Senior Landsape Architect / Project Manager | Sites Southwest / by NMASLA

SITES SOUTHWEST is a community-oriented landscape architecture and planning firm with a rich history serving primarily public clients throughout the Southwest. Our primary office where most of our employees are located is in Albuquerque, NM, but we also have projects and employees across the Southwest and are expanding into the high desert regions of the Pacific Northwest in Bend, Oregon. Our mission is to serve our clients through a personalized approach, providing community-driven, resilient, and climate-oriented solutions. Our goal is to help our client communities thrive, building on an understanding of local assets and opportunities to provide creative solutions to complex community and environmental design challenges. We use our unique breadth of skills across planning, landscape architecture, and urban design disciplines to re-envision the built environment, fashioning memorable, functional sites.

We are looking for a full-time Landscape Architect who can lead our Landscape Architecture team into its next phase of transition and growth. Our team is evolving and expanding, and we are looking for an experienced and highly collaborative project manager to help us continue to make an impact on local communities. The selected candidate will manage multi-disciplinary projects including mixed use, parks, trails, streetscapes, open spaces, agricultural spaces, and other project topologies. They will work with clients to develop preliminary and conceptual designs, oversee the development of plans, construction documents, and technical specifications, and provide construction oversight as needed. We work collaboratively amongst our diverse team and all positions include writing, proposal support, cost estimating, and fieldwork. This position will demand a level of leadership and provide opportunities to delegate tasks and coordinate the work of others, while helping them grow in their careers. We are eager to stay at the leading edge of the technical spear and seek candidates who are eager to remain technical experts, while pushing creative boundaries to chart new territory in our projects and expertise.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

-       Licensure as a Landscape Architect, deep technical understanding, and interest in professional growth

-       10+ years professional experience in Landscape Architecture and project management (including finances and marketing)

-       Solid understanding of digital and hand-drawn graphics and experience with AutoCAD, GIS, LandFX, the Adobe Suite, Sketch-Up, and/or other related software tools

-       Strong interest in sustainable and equitable design in Southwestern and high-desert environments

-       Exquisite leadership skills, communication ability, and teamwork

We offer a competitive benefits package and a flexible schedule with a hybrid work environment, tailored to suit our employees’ and business needs. Employees work on collaborative teams both virtually and in our beautiful urban office near downtown Albuquerque, on Route 66. In-state travel opportunities exist, allowing for on-site engagement with projects and clients. These engagements can flex from standard hours, but we aim to coordinate in advance and provide coverage across the team. We will consider out-of-state candidates to work remotely or for relocation. In the case of relocation, benefits may be provided. Preference may be given to candidates who can work regularly at the Albuquerque office.

We are looking for someone who is eager to help us lead our business and Landscape Architecture team into its next chapter, passionate about helping communities solve problems, and who can creatively capitalize on opportunities. If you would like to explore employment with our firm, submit a cover letter, resume and writing sample or portfolio to: mail@sites-sw.com. We look forward to meeting you!
